‘A-MA’ | Documentary (2023)

When I first set out to make a documentary about my grandma, I wanted to create a piece of work to remember her by. I initially aimed at capturing her as an immigrant then as my grandma, but I remembered that above all else, she was just a person, with her own hopes and dreams. So, I gathered my family, and, in the process of making a documentary, inadvertently captured the chaos, humour and intimacy of a typical Asian gathering.
